About us

We are a local husband and wife who love to play golf in South Florida. How could you not? It is such a beautiful place and the weather is great. I have been playing golf since I was a child and tend to focus more on the difficulty and playability of the courses. While my wife, who just started playing about a year ago, brings the unique perspective of a beginner with an eye for the aesthetics and accommodations each course has to offer. We observed the need for quality reviews of golf courses in the area when we moved here a few years ago. We noticed that there are so many courses in South Florida offering a wide range of quality and experiences, but little advice as to which ones offer quality golf at a decent value. We realized that we could offer a unique local perspective on the courses we have played that can help others find the courses that are best for them. We believe our combined perspectives on the courses that we play will help both the advanced golfer looking for a challenge and the novice looking for a nice golfing experience.

About our Reviews

We have focused our reviews on the following key criteria for each course we write about.

·         Facilities: We look at the pro shop, clubhouse, driving range, putting greens and other amenities in order to develop our rating for the facilities of the course. We look at both availability of facilities as well as the quality and upkeep of them.

• Difficulty: This one is pretty self-explanatory. We play every course that we review and write about the aspects of the course that we feel either make it a difficult course or not so difficult course to play. We look at length, layout, green size and break, placement of hazards, etc. to form an opinion on the difficulty of a course.

• Condition: For this part of the review, we judge two main aspects. We look at the overall aesthetics and beauty of the course as well as the physical shape that the course is in.

• Value: For value, we assess the golfing experience compared to the price range for a round. We will try to provide detail as to the pricing for each course we review (can sometimes be difficult due to changing prices during different times of year) and then will reach a conclusion as to whether a course provided a good value for the price.

•  Overall: This is a final rating taking the entire experience at the course into consideration.

For each criteria reviewed, we will provide a rating from 1 golf ball (worst rating) to 5 golf balls (best rating). If you are short on time, we have a summary of the ratings at the top of each review along with a few bullet points outlining the key highlights from the review. We then provide details for each rating in a few paragraphs below the summary if you are looking for more information not included in the highlights.

The intent of creating this blog was to help you enjoy the game of golf here in South Florida. We have a lot of great courses in the area and want you to find at least one, if not many, that you really like. When available, we will offer links to discount booking sites that offer good prices on rounds of golf for a course we review. If you decide you want to try a course we review, we hope that you take advantage of those links because they really can save you money when compared to booking directly with the course. We provide additional disclosure about these offers and our affiliate relationships, if you would like to know more.
